| Forte User | Jamey Aebersold Jazz Festival ...Is this Friday at the University of Louisville. The CU jazz band is going to perform there, along with Morehead University and the University of Indiana. The set we're doing is Malaguena, Huntin' Wabbits, and La Fiesta. ...I'm freakin' excited. Van

![]() | Re: Jamey Aebersold Jazz Festival I wanted to chime in on this one too! I'll be playing with U of L's big band on the Friday and Saturday concerts. Friday we are playing with Bone player Bob McChesney from LA ( he's freakin amazing) and Saturday we'll be playing with David "Fathead" Newman.( Tenor Sax) I'll be playing a feature on a chart that appeared on a Carl Saunders CD with his bebop big band. The Chart is called Perspective Hindsight. This festival is a lot of fun, so I hope to see some of you there. If my new stage 1 is here in time from Felix I'll let you take it for a spin! check out the pic ... .It should be attached to this post Peace Matt |

| Forte User | Re: Jamey Aebersold Jazz Festival We perform at 2pm. We then have leave for a clinic at Dayton and Fairborn Ohio over the weekend, so sadly I can't catch the concert. We are going to be able to listen to Mr. McChesney's clinic, however. I've been told that Bob is arguably one of the best bone players in the world. Will be something. This is going to be my first time visiting Louisville, as well as Ohio. Just going to be a fun week. ....Even though I have to wake up at 5am. If I catch you Mr. Lawson, me and our lead player will *HAVE* to try your Possegger. I, for one, hope your Stage 1 will meet us both there tomorrow! Did I mention I'm excited? Van

On Sunday Paquito (sp) De rivera will bring his quintet in for a show. He's bringing a trumpeter with him I have not heard of named Deigo. I'm assuming this guys really kicks tail so if your in the Louisville area please stop by and check out all the festivities.... It should be a great hang Peace Matt |
