| New Friend | I know this is a very generic question between trumpet players, but how can I build my chops for higher notes. I can hit high E( 3 ledger lines above staff) but can't seem to get higher then that and I'm a lead player in jazz with now very demanding charts with G's and A's..... Help? Mike |

| Forte User | Re: Jazz chops High notes don't come quickly. They require lots of practice. Long tones and flexes at a quiet volume will help this. Do a search. There are literally hundreds of topics on high notes on these forums.

![]() ![]() | Re: Jazz chops I began working on high notes by taking simple songs up an octave. Use your elementary book from 4th grade. Also read some of the past threads, there's lots of stuff. |

No magic horns, no magic mouthpieces and no magic systems will make these notes appear. Only intelligent practice over time will get the desired results. Practice! Wilmer
