Just saw Sean Jones last night

Wow...... He is a tremendiously talented trumpet player. The concert was at UMass Amherst (I went with 2 of my friends and my mom because Im only 16 and have to wait 4 more months to drive other people) and it was AWESOME!!! Everything he played was so clear and articulated. It was amazing. This one song he played, BJ's Tune (Life in the Hand, Divine) was so long that at the very end you could hear the huge breaths he was taking in between every little "passage" and how tired he was. He even had to pause for a second to tighten one of his valves Another song that was totally awesome was the Serpent, which was a song he wrote for the late Steve Irwin (theres a REALLY funny story behind it). It's bass line is really awesome and hearing it in person probably made it 10x better. It was an awesome experience and hes a really nice and REALLY funny individual. If he couldn't play as well as he does, he could probably have a career in stand-up comedy (hes that funny).

Well I just thought that I should share my experience and I would really recommend all 3 of his CDs to anyone who loves jazz.
