Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

Let me know what you think!

I also have some Zoom clips that sound silly.

Re: Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

Here's another I hope of Ellington/Strayhorn's beautiful ballad "the Star-Crossed Lovers".

Re: Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

Sound file of "I'll Remember April" on the Zoom H4 with no studio leveling, sweetening or eq... just a fade at the end.

I used two overhead mics and put them on stage. This is compressed to 160K WMA but you should hear the WAV. wow.

Re: Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

What horns are you playing nowadays? I had heard that you moved away from Eclipse.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

That gig I used my 1956/7 Conn Connstellation 38B and Cousnenon Flugel (Doc's old horn).

I have a ton of great horns that I vary depending on gig and tone color I'm looking for.

Thanks again for checking out the clips. Once I finish my taxes (hahahah!) I'll put 3-4 more videos up on the site.

Regards,

T

Re: Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

Another cut from the live gig... this one on John Swana's "Through My Eyes"

Sorry for the blank spot in the end of the video. My digicam chops aren't up to my trumpet level (understatement of the century).

The next clip below is "I'll remember April"

Thanks again for checking these out. This is where my own ear is leading me, hopefully you'll dig the clips.

Best,

T

Re: Live video from Maine Jazz Festival gig

People have asked what I use for effects... that's a Shure Sm-57 running directly into a Digitech Vocal 300 Processor. All the patches I use on the unit are customized for my sound choices.

I have a few more clips coming tomorrow with more effects.
