![]() | Machito Hello all. Here's a great clip of the Machito Orchestra playing "Cuban Fantasy" on Japanese TV. Trumpet soloists are Chocolate Armenteros and Doc Cheatham. Enjoy! -Kevin YouTube - Machito & Graciela En Japon Pt.1 |

![]() | Re: Machito Hey Kevin: What a great clip! My favorite trumpet player, Chocolate Armenteros.....what an artist! He just sings thru his horn. When you play one note and everyone knows that it is you playing....that is being an artist. Oscar |

Mario led his own band. Victor Paz was Mario's straw boss in his band. Victor is my friend and mentor in the music. I had the opportunity to play with Eddie Palmieri's and Mario's bands because of our friendship. Hail Vitin! Wilmer

![]() | Re: Machito I also love the understated showmanship of Machito. Note his catching of the maraca on 1 after the stomp off. One of a kind. Incidentally, there's a very nice interview with his son Mario at Descarga.com: Home. -Kevin |
