Re: Maynard band -- who are these guys?

Joe Farrell on tenor. Rufus Jones on drums. Jaki Byard on piano were the only guys I recognized.

Re: Maynard band -- who are these guys?

Stockton Helbing (drummer and MD), Ken Edwards (tpt) and Brian Mulholland (Bass) are freelancing and teaching in the DFW area. Stockton is producing (Phil Bulla is mixing) Maynards new album. All reports so far are amazing. Chip McNeil played tenor, Steve Weist was on tbn.

As a side note Ken, Steve, Brian and Chip just recorded Stocktons new album.

Michael Manthey, MF's last Valet/3rd player, is playing lead trumpet for a tour/tribute to Ray Charles:

I thought that was David Monette on drums!
