There were seats available. If an 81st birthday concert is held you have to hear it.
Eric and Walter were "on" and awsome. Frank Greene was a monster in the section.
I will try to post pictures. Most of the band came out afterwards and signed programs. Eric, Walter and Frank were generous with their time. Denis DeBlasio was his good humoured self. Denis played the flute solo before Star Trek and was outstanding by playing, singing, triple tonguing. He gave a clinic on jazz flute with just that piece.
If these guys go on tour it will be worth the ticket.

Frank says hello to Wilmer.

Re: Maynard Ferguson 80th Brithday Tribute

The first 2 times I ever saw MF in concert back in 1973, Lin Biviano was leading the trumpet section.
MF and Lin Biviano seemed to be genuinely fond of each other and I loved seeing them together.

So for almost 2 years I have been wondering why I have never seen Lin Biviano attend any MF memorial concert and I have never seen Lin Biviano quoted in any MF memorial Web page.

Anybody know why Lin seems to be missing from the MF memorials?
