Mics

Hi all
I posted this in the accesories forum but didnt get a response..............Maybe I will have better luck here.
I am looking at buying a clip on mic. Two have been recommended to me, an AKG 409 and an AKG 419. I have a couple of questions.
Is the 419 significantly better than the 409 (its $100AUD more expensive)?
Will a clip on Mic have an adverse affect on the horns response or resonance?
Looking at pictures of these Mics it appears that I wont be able to use a mute or a stand?
Lastly, The mic will be used only in a loud, high energy Funk/Soul/Rock band. I dont envision using it in Big band or Orchestra, so I dont want to spend a large amount of money. For the same reasons, I dont want to go wireless at this stage. Unfortunately I wont be able to view or try out one of these Mics so I would really appreciate your feed back.
Cheers all
Laurie
