I dont think anyone can play anyone, look at Wallace Roney's tribute to Miles Davis, really GREAT interpretation of Miles, but I could tell immediately that it wasn't not him

Miles was cutting edge interpretation. It is up to the music historians to figure out how many styles he invented or at least influenced to a major degree.
To "copy" that would be extremely tough, like any moving target is hard to hit. Miles moved his whole musical life. A copy would be static and therefore not Miles-like.
