MM Audition List: Solo's To Transcribe?

Hi All,

I'm doing the audition thing this fall/spring, applying to graduate school for jazz trumpet. The schools are: NYU, MSM, Jilliard, CalArts, NEC, USC.

The Audition rep is the following:

Donna Lee
Cherokee
Isotope
I Remember Clifford
Lush Life
Katrina Balerina
Little Niles
Bolivia
How Insensitive
Beatrice

Aside from getting all the trane solos that cover those, and the landmark cuts of I remember... and Cherokee, has anyone come accross any particularly tasty recordings of any of the above?

Thanks!

Re: MM Audition List: Solo's To Transcribe?

You should find the Clifford Brown solos on Cherokee and Donna Lee, IMHO. some of these are Woody Shaw tunes, too, correct? He's a must, as well.

You might search the Ken Sloan collection, but it would probably be best to do your own transcriptions.
