My band at the Jazz Standard with Greg Osby this Sunday...

Hey everyone,

My Collective, The JPC, will be making a rare live appearance at the Jazz Standard with a guest appearance by altoist Greg Osby(2nd set only). This performance is part of the FONT (Festival Of New Trumpet) music with runs from Sept. 15th-30. I was commissioned by this year's festival on behalf of the Greenwald Foundation to premier a new work. The tentative title of the new work is Fun n Games: Beauty in Numbers, and it's a suite for jazz quintet that's based on a sudoku game that was printed in the Boston Metro newspaper on my birthday in 2006. The suite, which is about an hour's worth of music, travels through many tonalities, time signatures, and is promised to bend your ear a little.

The JPC:
Jason Palmer-Trumpet
David Negrete-alto saxophone
Greg Duncan-guitar
Hogyu Hwang-Bass
Lee Fish-Drums

and special Guest Greg Osby-alto saxophone (2nd set only).

It's best to make reservations at the club in advance. Tickets are $25.00

Hope to see you all there!!!

All the best,

Jason Palmer
