![]() | NYTC CCD Tracks! 3 up!!!!! Well, folks, I have three of the tracks posted at my Mp3unsigned.com site. I also have one at my myspace site. MP3 Unsigned - The Best MP3's from New and Unsigned Artists These tunes are NOT available for download and will be rotated periodically. We want to share, but hope that you'll consider buying a CD from Felix when the release is complete. BTW, both Adrian and Felix have given permission for periodic posting. The CD, "A Day In Saratoga" features six artists who endorse Felix's horns - New York Trumpet Company Endorsing Artists. We are all using Felix's horns on the session. The three tracks I have up as of NOW are: Long Haul Flight A Curious Yellow Foray Into The Unknown The artists are: Nick Drozdoff Adrian Kelly Tony Gambaro Russ Johnson Garut Salvuk Felix Vayser (yup!! He busted out a horn for the session!) On the tune descriptions I post detailed orders of soloists. This section reminds me of my experience on Maynard's band. To refer to one player as the "lead" player or the "soloist" is a bit inappropriate. EVERYONE on this session was superbly capable on both fronts and everyone served in those capacites on the various tracks. Adrian, a brilliant composer, wrote charts to address everyone's strengths. I am humbled to have been included with these five other guys on this project. Adrian, I love your stuff, man! Felix, thanks for mentoring this project and making such wonderful horns! MP3 Unsigned - The Best MP3's from New and Unsigned Artists Peace! Nick

![]() ![]() | Re: NYTC CCD Tracks! 3 up!!!!! Nick! What a great job! Long Haul, and Flight are really hot! Yellow isn't my type, but it is very pretty, nice sounds. I STILL love that crystal clear Fagerquist type sound you have. Bright and brilliant. Keep us posted. -cw-

![]() | Re: NYTC CD Tracks! 3 up!!!!! Thanks for your kind words, Chuck! They mean so much coming from you, man! On Long Haul Flight I was kinda pleased with myself with the two scream solos. I felt the doulbe Eb came out 'purdy good' and the double G on the end of the tune was an unexpected thing - just came to me to go for it and out it came. On Foray Into The Unknown, Tony and Garutt just scorched the earth on thier firece trumpet battle - I mean awesome. I think thats Tony drilling the high Bb on the end of the battle. Man that had some hair on it. I opted to do a flugel solo and, well, behave myself (contrast, don't you know). I liked the challenge of the odd meter on this tune and when the strings come in behind me the changes really move nicely and unexpectedly. The Curious Yellow track was fun to do. That was actually recorded after the Saratoga session. Adrian wrote a new tune for solo flugel and strings. He sent me a CD with the socre. I then fired up my PC mini-studio and laid down two tracks for him on top of the live string section he recorded in Perth. This is the one that made the cut. Chuck, I know this isn't your cup of tea and that's totally cool. Personally, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to play in this sort of environment. In all honesty, I don't REALLY know what folks think of me as trumpeter, but MANY think of me as a screamer, when, in fact, my history has been more legit! On top of that, getting serious as a jazz improviser is a project that is only about five yars old, now. Before that, I was really a "jazz dabbler." I like to think I can make the cut as a true jazz improviser, these days. One can dream, eh? Ok, gotta split! Nick

![]() | Re: NYTC CD Tracks! 3 up!!!!! NUTS! They chnaged the title of the CD on me! OK, I'm PRETTY sure the original CD title was "A Day IN Saratoga." However, that isn't what's in thew artwork! So, the official tilte of the Cd is: "Intercontinental Drift" I stand corrected (by Felix - he oughta know) Nick

![]() | Re: NYTC CCD Tracks! 3 up!!!!! Hi guys! Thanks for the kind words about the composing! I just wanted to say what an honour it was to have these guys play my music, the whole process was a joy, with everyone showing the utmost dedication to making it the best possible musical experience. I think the exhilaration of making this album (and making new friends on the other side of the world!) comes across on the tracks. Thanks to all who were involved, especially Felix for making the whole thing happen!!! The players in the rhythm section are all from Perth, Western Australia: Keys - Graham Wood, Guitar- Freddie Grigson, Bass - Paul Pooley, Drumset - Ric Eastman. Other Perth people guesting on the album are 'Bojeme' (string trio), Jeremy Greig (trombone) and David Elton (trumpet) Cheers! -Adrian
