NYTC CD “Curious Yellow” Song of The Year award

Just got a word that “Curious Yellow” from my CD "Intercontinental Drift" has been awarded the Song Of The Year in the jazz category at the West Australian Music Industry Awards.

Nick Drozdoff solo improv.Adrian Kelly composition.

Go Nick.!!!!!!

This is absolutely incredible. Super congrats to you and all the guys on the recording...engineers...writers... wow.

So...this is your first cd?? hahaha. Amazing.

I can't really say it's "MY" CD.
Few other people were there also.
All music was written by Adrian,as well as most of trumpet playing was done by him,Nick D,Tony G,Russ Johnson,Garret Savluk,so it's kind of "Our" CD.:)
But yes,it is first,with few more to come.:)

I'm just grateful that I was given the opportunity to be a part of all of this.

The Curious Yellow piece is really different. It is for solo flugelhorn and string quartet. Adrian's writing is really very ineresting - utterly unique. I'm was honored he considered me for the chance to do some blowing on this as most of the second half of the piece is an improvised part.

Adrain deserves much praise. He is, IMHO and excellent and unique composer.

I'll have a sample fo the tune playable later today. Be sure to check out the whole CD (I've also got samples on my site of those as well). Felix has them for sale as well as Adrian. There is some really cool stuff on it.

Gotta get to school.

I did a review of this CD, it has some really cool stuff on it. Some nice playing and some really nice musical moments.
