Pink Martini

Has anybody heard of or like to listen to Pink Martini? They are a latin-jazz-type group. They have some really neat trumpet playing! I got really into them because my youth symphony is going to play with them! I can't wait.
I believe my conductor said that they have a gold album in Europe.

Have a good day!

Hi,
I'm in Beaverton. I've heard of Pink Martini, but have not heard their music. Where and when is your concert, that I might attend?

The trumpet player for Pink Martini is Gavin Bondy. He also plays/leads a local band called the Woolies.

I saw the Woolies live at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Fest last year (the act before Arturo played!). As I understand it, Gavin composes the Woolies music. The best I can describe it would be Duke Ellington on steroids, its great stuff. Gavin also played Harry James Trumpet Concerto is really a great player. Check them out if you can. You won't regret it. There is a calendar on their page.

Gavin was last seen playing on Marcinkiewicz horns.

later,
Rob
