| Ray Vega The great Ray Vega will be a guest of the University of Iowa Jazz Department Thursday, December 13th through Saturday. December 15th. He will be featured in Trumpet Seminar for a masterclass Thursday from 12:30 - 1:25pm Harper Hall in Voxman Music building. Thursday evening rehearsal with UIowa Latin Jazz Ensemble from 8 to 10pm on the Clapp Recital Hall stage. Beginning at 9:15am Friday morning, Ray, along with the UIowa Jazz Faculty (John Rapson, Brent Sandy, Steve Grismore, Jim Dreier), will be working with and clinicing the students of five high school big bands in their preparation of latin pieces that will culminate with a concert beginning at 8pm that same evening in Clapp Recital Hall. On Saturday afternoon, Ray will be teaching privately to select UIowa students and will be performing that evening with Orquesta Alto Maiz (Orquesta Alto Maiz) beginning at 9:30pm at the Mill Restaurant on Gilbert street in Iowa city.
