 | Ray Vega dates in NYC this week. Hello all--- Last week was one for the books. This past Thursday evening I received The Bobby Capo Lifetime Achievement Award from The Battery Park City Authority along with a Certificate of Recognition from Governor Spitzer’s office. The awards ceremony was part of the month long celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. I totally love what I do as an artist and an educator.....I do what I do regardless of whether anyone notices. I must tell you that I was surprised when I was informed about the award. It’s really nice to be recognized for one’s efforts-----however, the process continues. On Thursday night (9/13/07) my sextet will be at: The Nuyorican Poets Cafe @ 9:30PM 236 East 3rd Street NYC On Saturday afternoon (9/15/07) my sextet will be at: York Fest 2007 @York College @3:30PM 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. Queens,NY 11451 The Ray Vega Sextet Featuring: Hector Martignon/Piano Andy Eulau/Bass Richie Morales/Drums Renato Thoms/Tumbadoras Dave DeJesus/Alto Sax RV/Trumpet Come on out and experience the process!
