NickD has a spectacular aura about
Some more rough mixes...

Ok, I made some mods to Airmail Special Special, though my trombone player hasn't come in yet. Hopefully he'll be here tomorrow.

However, I am more excited about adding a VERY rough mix, with two scratch trumpet parts still in it, of S'Wonderful. I'm also still editing the piano tracks.

My new CD is all about giving voice to even more musicians I feel need to be heard, hence the extra horns and, on this track, a vocalist. I asked the wife of one of my fine guitarists (Frank Dawson), Anna, to come in and sing a couple of tunes for me. Anna NEEDS TO BE HEARD. Frank and Anna, in addition to being incredibly nice people, they are both immensely talented. Frank plays in the Chicago Jazz Orchestra under John Faddis. Anna, used to work for Marshall Vente, but is now totally free-lance. Check out...

Again, I'm using Felix's fine horn (my Stage 1 California) but with a mute in it. This tune just called for the mute.

This project will be a wide variety of styles ranging from old school jazz/dance (like this one) to the more bizzarre take on Airmail Special. I've got one full blown mambo and a bolero planned in additon to some hard bop and just plain new jazz.

More sharing to follow. For now, just dig on the se tracks.

Peace.

Nick
