![]() | TMEA All-State Jazzers Concert Went to hear the Texas High School All-State Jazz Ensemble today at the TMEA Convention. WOW! Is the future of jazz talent in Texas bright! These "kids" were awesome, as was the program and conductor, Glenn Kostur from New Mexico (that's left of Texas). all and all superb playing from a fine group of musicians--including both alto saxes (Adam Carillo and Anthony Martinez) as well as the 2nd Tbone (Ryan Teter) from my own back yard. If any of the trumpets--Josh Ponce, Tyler Allen, Sarah Bauza, Michael Arnold or Jeffery Martin) are here on TM, then congrats on a great effort and show. You all have wondeful futures ahead of you. ...I need to practice more... p.s. If any of you have a music/band teachers conference in your state--GO. You can catch some amazing talent there! |
