Ouch!
In 1966, I was work in the Club Harlem house band. Sammy was there that summer working a 2 week engagement at the club. He invited the whole cast of the show to a private screening of the film. The movie was shown at 7 or 8 in the morning at a Boardwalk movie theater. You can imagine the state of the audience. We had just finished doing two grueling shows, and the liquid refreshments were taking hold The band's first set was 10PM.
Ah, to be that energetic again.

That summer I commuted from Atlantic City to Marlboro, Vt. to record the Bach Suites with Pablo Casals. Lou Opalesky was the driver. We went back every afternoon after the sessions. We did that for almost a week......... and lived.

The places you've been and the people you've been with!

Amazing!

Of course, I'm sure that some other people's stories and memories include a few about Wilmer Wise
