Who's Playing?

It's been a little while since i've picked up a new jazz recording and I'm trying to find a couple good jazz trumpet cd's...but I'm having trouble finding new talent. Aside from the ussual suspects Marsalis, Payton, Douglas, Blanchard....who are some of the guy's out there who are really playing? Does Kisor have anything new out?

Thanks in advance.

Valery Ponomarev has always sounded pretty original. His big band has been cookin' too.

Nick Drozdoff just released a cd. Go check it out! I've also been listening to Markus Stockhausen. Very unique approach.

I remember seeing Valery a long time ago... he was smokin' then, too.

Re: Who's playing?

I have a cd by saxophonist Stefano Di Battista called "a prima vista" with Flavio Boltro on trumpet...is that who you are talking about? I've heard Jeremy Pelt is pretty smokin'....any recomendations for one of his cd's?
