14's?

Hello everybody!

So, this is my first post on this forum. Looking forward to share my "trumpet life" with you!

I play the Yamaha 14B4 and LOVE it!
I also play the Yamaha 14C4 and like it!
I am now tryin' out the Yamaha 14A4A and...? I don't know yet!

Does anybody on this forum play the entire 14'series from Yamaha? ...and would you like to share some experinces and opinions.

Thanks,
Marty

Re: 14's?

Schilkeshaker,
welcome to TM!
Old age and more symphonic playing habits has killed my ability to play on a 14A4A. My lips swell after about 30 min. of playing and I get no more sound out. I played that piece successfully for 20 years.

Re: 14's?

I have high school students try the 14c4 and if it works have them use that as there base mouthpiece (band, orchestra, solo, small ensemble etc) and 14b4 for jazz, pep and marching band. I don't let them try to 14a4a it is really somewhat of a specialty mouthpiece and can do more harm then good.

(a 14a4a came with my piccolo trumpet and i never could get a sound out of it)
