BIG KUDOS to Dillon Music

As some of you know I tend to buy and sell a lot of items. Tomorrow I head off to Miami for a recording session (great trumpet section btw... I'm scared!) and wanted to use my Vax case instead of my Raw Brass quad. I'm getting less and less enthused about putting my horns under the plane.

Big Problem.... I no longer OWN a Vax case as I sold it in the past (it did have about 200,000 miles on it... literally). I've been selling a lot of my old cases and forgot to replace the Vax with a new case. Oops.

In a panic I emailed my pal Perry Sutton at Dillon and they OVERNIGHTED me a case yesterday afternoon. Not only do I already have the case (THANK YOU GUYS!) at 9:30 AM EST but I got a great price on the case. You guys bailed me out big time.

It just makes me understand what a top shelf organization Dillon Music is...

Many heartfelt thanks to Perry, Steve, Jim, James, and the rest of the Dillon staff.

TWO THUMBS UP! WAY UP!

You've got more guts than me. I wouldn't trust my horns to those soft cases in the hands of the airlines!

Re: BIG KUDOS to Dillon Music

The Vax is for overheads. The Raw Brass is a tank but I still don't want to put it under. I can jump up and down on that case (and I'm too heavy) with no ill effects.

Re: BIG KUDOS to Dillon Music

Anything underneath scares me--airlines lose luggage all the time. A case might protect the beejeebers out of the horns, but if it is lost, who cares? Travel or instrument insurance is smart if you check the horns.

Re: BIG KUDOS to Dillon Music

That's what I'm quickly realizing. The RawBrass case is great for carrying 4 horns securely but now that I'm settled on trumpets insurance doesn't matter me. I actually have trumpets (just got my C a few hours ago) that I love to play... this is far more priceless especially given my history with instruments.

When I get back from Miami I hope to order my Coyote! :)
