![]() | Clip on mics Gday all Ive decided to buy a clip on mic, but I am not too sure Which one to get. The local supplier has recommended an AKG D409 or an AKG C419. The 419 is approximately $100Aud more expensive than the 419, and apparently requires a power source at additional cost. So..... Is the 419 significantly better than the 409? Do these mics affect the horns resonance or dampen the bells vibration? I will be using the mic in a loud, high energy Funk/Soul/Rock band.I want to be able to "cut through" without working my backside off, and I dont want to have to aim at a standard mic all night. I dont want to go to the expense of a wireless system at this stage, and I wont have the opportunity to view or try one before I buy. I am a complete novice when it comes to mics and sound systems, so can someone explain the concept of "phantom power". Thanks fellas Laurie |
