Leaving the road he did graduate work under David Hickman--the dude can play! He also got himself one of those nifty CNC machines and actively started seeking out Bach Mt. Vernon mouthpieces to copy. He chose to use the C rims, and then copied and/or "interfaced" (adapted) a number of cups to them. (I am not sure of the origin of the .600 series, 'cuz I don't play on 'em.) Mark made some custom pieces for me (I like, uhh, press waay too hard to enjoy the benefits of the fairly sharp inner rim of the Bach "C" cups!) and have been more than happy with them. Mark is confident enough in his products that he doesn't need any "hype." One may or may not like what his products do, but they do what he says they will. Rare enough in the trumpet world today. As Champ said, "they don't suck!"

![]() | Re: curry mouthpieces Yeah they really don't suck. I switched from Bach about two years ago. They are more comfortable and play great. Nick |

![]() | Re: curry mouthpieces I love the 60M of the 600 series for anything big band, and the 3C(.) fits my Bach like a glove. Compares beautifully to the MV but an easier rim. Nice. And Mark is a good guy. ed |

![]() | Re: curry mouthpieces Wondering if anyone can give me a hand. I've been playing cornet for a bit more than a year with an Olds 3c mouthpiece, the pear shaped one from some decades back. The cornets I own are a Blessing Artist '35 & '38, and an 80A Conn Victor '46. I know these horns require a short-shank mpc to get the "true" sound. I'd like to try a Curry VC model, but I don't want to screw up my developing embochure. Since I don't have the tools to measure the cup depth & rim size of the Olds 3c (and I've emailed Mark but haven't received a reply), I was hoping someone could suggest which Curry VC model size would be closest to the Olds 3c. Also, has anyone tried the DC model for cornet? Thanks! |
