![]() | Endurance on New Mouthpiece So I was talking to my teacher about mouthpieces and out of my own curiosity I wanted to try a "giant" mouthpiece. It just so happened that my teacher has a Stork Vacchiano 1 that he used to play way back when. He has given it to me to borrow and try out and I really like it. The sound I get out of this mouthpiece is amazing but I am thinking that endurance could potentially be an issue during a long rehearsal. Is endurance on "monster mouthpiece" like this, something could be built op through practice on it or should I just stop trying to macho and stick the mouthpiece I have now (Monette B2/C2)? -Jacob

If you are secure with your present equipment you need a pretty good reason to change something. Nobody can predict how far you will fall if you change (if at all). Wait till summer vacation and then give it 3 or 4 weeks - after that you should be familiar with the ups and downs!
