Flip Oakes flugelhorn mouthpiece

I'm thinking of getting a Flip Oakes 1.5 flugelhorn mouthpiece for my Kanstul 1525, since I play a Bach 1.5C for trumpet.

Has anyone tried the Flip Oakes flugel pieces? What do you think?

Re: Flip Oakes flugelhorn mouthpiece

Hi,

I have a WT3 FL piece. The rim is very comfortable and despite the wide open throat and backbore and deep cup it personally produces a smooth sound that is in tune with a surprisingly easy upper register. Some have described the mouthpiece as a sewer pipe connected to a bird bath so your mileage may vary.

Cheers,

Brian
