| Fokus Mouthpieces Anyone had any experience with the Fokus mouthpiece? http://www.fokusmouthpieces.com/ Seems like a solid concept. Jim |

| No replies ... Oh well, I was very impressed by the system. Each model of mouthpiece comes in one of four Bach sizes: 1.5, 3, 7, and 10.5 If you have a need for different mouthpieces for different styles, but wish to keep the same feel, this system seems to fit the bill. I was convinced and became a dealer http://www.ibowtie.com/storefokus.html (I only sell things I really believe in). LEAD FoKused, predominant amount of high overtones, maximum projection. ARTIST FoKused, all overtones available, excellent projection, if desired.* SYMPHONIC FoKused, full timbre, dark to brilliant, good projection.* ALL AROUND FoKused, equal amount of high and low overtones, good projection. PRINCIPAL FoKused, full timbre, dark to brilliant, maximum amount of sound volume. If anyone has played these, I would love to hear their response. Jim |

| I had a L 10.5 that I just sold on eBay. It's a great piece, easy to play, has an almost perfect bite, and improved my articulation somewhat -- just what the doctor ordered for lead work!! I can't say it added any notes to my upper register but it did give what I already have a slight edge. Bottom line, I just preferred the rim on my Reeves 40 series. The rim on the L 10.5 felt more narrow than what I was used to using. I'd also like to add that Lowell Stevenson was very helpful and a great all-around-guy!! ---<Rick |

The FoKus is a great mouthpiece at a fairly reasonable price. Sure it is more than the standard Bach or Schilke. But as mouthpieces go, they are fairly inexpensive. Jim | |
