![]() | gig bag I want a new gig bag. Right now I use a "gig" bag, but, I want something more "professional" looking that still protects my horn. Any suggestions are welcome. I am leaning towards a Reunion Blues bag, but, I heard that their #1 guy left and is making bags on his own. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

![]() | Re: gig bag My suggestion would be to stick to the hard case. Pro-tech makes hard cases that are pretty lightweight. I prefer the hard cases but sometimes have to use a gig bag. When I do I have a Gard which does pretty well. I am saving up for a Brass-Bag Quad case.

![]() | Re: gig bag As someone has said the best protection is a hard case. I have had gigbags for years and had no trouble, BUT I keep the bag with me and I handle it myself. Air travel or on a tour I really suggest something with more protection. However, I found the best gig bags out there (but a little expensive) are the Glen Cronkhite bags. He was the former designer of the Reunion Blues bags before the were shipped to China. For more info go to his web site. Oh, did I sey that you have a choice of colors. Good luck in your serch. |

![]() | Re: gig bag I use a pro-tec triple but, like Jim, only when I am able to carry it with me all the time and nobody else handles it. It carries a prodigious amount of gear..maybe too much..but offers only basic protection. I had one of the very early Torpedo bags and they are very, very strong and well thought out. I like the new mute holders and the mouthpiece pouches!! Regards, Trevor |

hi, personally gig bags make me really nervous. when i spend thousands of dollars on a horn i like to REALLY protect it. my current favorite cases are Pro Tecs. you get a fairly light weight bag with still pretty good protection. the two i like are the Contour bag. PRO TEC Product | Contoured Trumpet PRO PAC Case and the Deluxe bag. PRO TEC Product | Deluxe Trumpet Gig Bag good luck.

![]() | Re: gig bag The Torpedo is really cool...I still haven't gotten one because I rarely take my horns out of my studio but if I only needed a single Horn solution it would be the Loredo Torpedo. jmp |

| Pianissimo User | Re: gig bag Just for your information, Brass Bags cases are actually very very soft, with minimal padding on the sides (hence their ultra-compactness). But don't think I'm advising against it: cut some plexi to fit in the sides/top/bottom of the case and you have the world's smallest hard quad case. If that's not enough protection for you, look at Bona. Both are awesome cases, I have a Brass Bags triple and a Bona quad. Stuart |
