Harrelson Mouthpiece Mod.

Just thought I would sign in and give a report that I am very close to recieving a "one off" Harrelson Mouthpiece Sleeve Mod on my cherished Monette B1-1 prana. Yipes, talk about taking a risk, but I am a big Harrelson fan and have owned two of his trumpets and know his work is 1A. Why did I do it? Well, I have been wanting to add a bit of weight to my STC1 without compromising the tonal center with a Monette STC2 or 3 on a non Monette horn. He did a fantastic job on a weighted Mod on my B1-1FL years ago (might have been one of his first mouthpiece mods?) I thought I would give it a try. Just so you know, it has been like a 7 month wait zzzzzzzzzz.

I blame Felix for everything as I'm sure his big "H" and "XH" orders to Jason push all us little guys down the list. Way to go bro. ha. I will post pics when it arrives. It is going to be "bling bling" awesome, but it better sound amazing too !

OK "peeps", slow your breathing and be sure and be seated. Check out the custom Harrelson Mouthpiece Mod. Jason Harrelson did on an STC1-B1-1 prana for me. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s_mill...49are2&.src=ph

It took 7 months to recieve but OH MY! I am so honored to be a client of one of the freshest Trumpet Builder/Designers in the Custom Trumpet market today. Every year our little trumpet community is blessed by his newest ideas and inventions that keep pushing the limites of our instrument. Jason took hits for years but is now a legit, dare I say, leader in trumpet artistry. His work never ceases to amaze me. I have owned the Triton 965 featured now on his home page-no that's not me, but I was one of the original owners of this remarkable instrument that is no longer offered. I have also owned the #6 MUSE in 24k but sold it to purchase my much beloved Getzen Genesis. In short, Jason, is the real deal and his offerings are amazing!

This mouthpiece was designed to add weight without compromising the tonal center of a STC-1 Monette on a heavy, but non standard Bb Trumpet. When paired with the XLR Eclipse (won in 2005) and Getzen Genesis, it is truely amazing. I think you will all agree it is also a world class piece of art!

Thanks Jason for your vision and continued dedication to trumpet design. To all the nay sayers through the years: The last laugh is on YOU!

Finish Well,
Dan

WOW,Dan.
Great looking mouthpiece.I am sure that it plays great as well.
As far as blaming me for the time that it had taken to be made,I actually will blame you right back.
Because of your litlle things,my big things take longer to make.LOL :)
Jason is a very busy man,and I personally have absolutely NOTHING to do with it.
He has enough of his own things to do.But I do get a priority.:)
I can't wait to try his Ebony models.

I doubt Mr. Dave would approve..but...
At the very least...this design could double as a very nice (& expensive!) orange/citrus juicer!!

I'm sorry... those grooves, man... couldn't resist. Hope it allows you to play tremendously! It is a looker. Certainly matches the beauty of your horn (s).

And they say money can't buy happiness?? haha..

Yes Wilcox96...

"Mr. Dave's" people said it would not work but it does, AND, it sounds great too! No tonal imbalence issues with the heavier weight MP on a non Monette horn. And yes, it juices and will even cut fire wood too which makes the investement even more practical ha.

As far as money buying happiness... I am not a wealthy man, I just made a nice profit on selling a couple of horns for more then I bought them for so I reinvested some of the funds back into this little project. Granted, it's "a bit over the top" but it sure is fun having the thing you stick in your face all day be something special!
