Heim Trumpet Mouthpieces

Hey all,

I've read for a while, but this is my first post -- so bear with me. I have a question about Heim pieces.

I rotate usually between my Laskey 40s* and Heim #2 for most of the playing I do. Occasionally I'll use a Heim #1. Both of the Heims I'm referring to are the modern Holten repro's.

I recently picked up a vintage Holton Heim 2 and I am really intrigued and truly enjoying it ... much warmer and richer throughout the full register of the horn then the modern version.

Does anyone know any history about these pieces? I have found some info on the net ... and I'm wondering if what if have is one of the original ones or something else. I did find that Giardinelli also made repro's of the #2's for Miles. Any info would be apprecieated. Thanks.
