| Help (Curry 5BC?) I just had a lesson with my trumpet teacher using my usual 3C and he noted that I had an unusually bright tone (for me) and asked me what mpc I was using. He told me I shold be using a 5C or 5B because my lips arn't very big so in my trust for him I am going to try a 5B, 5C or 5BC but from Curry not Bach. Any way which one should I go with, right now the 5BC looks good but I am worried about doing Jazz with a deeper piece. Any suggestions? |

![]() | Re: Help (Curry 5BC?) The bottom shape of the BC cup makes clean articulation easier than the standard B cup. For a lead piece, check out Mark's Z series. If you get them in the Curry blank, try a Monster Sleeve -- it can work wonders! Have fun! |

| Re: Help (Curry 5BC?) Thanks, I can only get one piece at a time, but I realize that if I go with a BC or B then I will have to get a lead piece most likely. I have abday comming up soon, so Ill get one then grab another. Is the BC better than a C for classical or does it depend. Right now it is hard to judge cause I got a 5C from school to try out, but it well is a cornet shank. I can get it to fit, but it isnt giving me the true results. Should I go wiht the TF? |

| Re: Help (Curry 5BC?) I got my Curry 5C today and it is amazing, has a better tone than my old Bach 3C, and since it actually fits my lips (more properly), it is easier to do everything. Range is still abit spotty but it always is when u change mouthpeices. Amazingly somehow it is easier to tounge to, which is really helping me on this NYSSMA solo. |
