Help with Identifying a Jet-Tone mpc...

I came across an old Jet-tone mpc in a music store recently and I can't find an exact match on Jet-Tone's website.

The mpc is marked "JET-TONE Studio model A". The closest reference I found is for the Studio-7S which was original model no. 1A. There is a reference to an original model no. Studio A mpc in the trombone section, but this would be the smallest trombone mpc I ever saw!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

There's an old Jet-Tone brochure at:

Jet Tone - Old Sizes Chart

The Studio was a specific model in the old Jet-Tone line, with a specific width and depth. The Studio A had the flat A rim.

I have one of these - if that wasn't their shallowest (which, according to the chart, it wasn't) - how the heck did anyone play anything smaller???
Fancy a laugh - I used to use the Studio A as my general mouthpiece (when I was about 16) - even for classical playing - I had a useless teacher who didn't point out that this might not be such a good move.

Um...ah...Mike, I played one for a little while and then switched to a smaller BC (Bill Chase) Jet Tone which I used 20+ years.

My GR's are basically the same thing.

Oh well......

I used a 5A in high school on the Haydn 1st mvmt. The high Eb was nooo problem, like, what's the fuss?

Re: Help with Identifying a Jet-Tone mpc...

Thanks Mike and John for the assist. John, the link to the old Jet-Tone chart was GREAT!

I admit to liking the feel of the flatter rims. And if you're like me and have, like, no lips, the shallow cup seems to work OK. I admit to the sound being bright, almost "tinny".

The search continues.

Thanks again, guys.

Steve
