![]() | Re: I need help Karen, Welcome to TM! The best advice I could give you with your situation is turn the Monique into a lamp and buy a good used horn by a reputable manufacturer(Getzen, Holton, Bach, Yamaha, Conn, King, Besson etc.). There are many student horns that can be purchased used for under $100.00. If you plan to keep playing one of these horns will serve you far longer than the price would suggest.

![]() | Re: I need help karen, i agree, Sell the scrap metal and buy something that has some good rep. if it is money that you are worried about, you can get a cheap olds ambassador on ebay (ONLY if you know how to shop it!!!) Or you can go to your local horn dealer, they usually have a good selection of student/ intermediate horns from parents whose kids quit. -Bach Aristocrat TR600 -Conn 1050b -Olds Ambassador (Gonna be vintage) -Yamaha YTR232 -All Student/Inter. horns, all reasonably priced, i have played one of each (and still own 2) these are solid pieces. kings, holtons, jupiters are good too. Do a search on "Decent, inexpensive horns" There are a lot of ideas in that thread. Happy hunting. Good Luck!! And WELCOME!!!!!
