jet tone mouthpieces

hi there, just started playing in a big band after a few years of classical stuff. looking for a mouthpiece which'll give a bit of help in the high register. someone gave me a jet tone 7m, soooo comfortable but i find when my lip's knackered i end up being able to play bugger all on it.

1. anyone know anything about jet tone merian e or mc or mcx? any comments?
2. should i just stick with my yamaha 16c4 and if so...
3. any recommended exercises to give me another couple of tones? can comfortably play high e but really struggle from then on, not been much necessity for very high stuf in the past. what about the pencil technique, or is that a can of worms?

cheers

mike

Its a can of worms if you don't have a teacher...
Bad development of the high register can be worse than no high register at all, because with proper study you can develop an upper register but with a bad technique, you'll have to destroy habits (very difficult)

A mpc will not give you extra high notes, it may help with notes you can already play, and most obviously change your tone. I would stick primarily with your main mpc unless you don't like the sound.
