![]() | Re: Loving a 3C! My director ordered me a brand spanking new one today, he doesn't want me playing a raw brass piece, so im getting a brand new one. Ill keep you updated once I get to test it out even further. But today when playing my 7c, i found that I got tired faster then the 3c. At first the 3c tired me out, but when I got used to it, it seemed to be more efficient in a way. When I get the 3c in, ill be able to further test it, but back to back against the 7c I found that the 7c tired me out compared to the 3c and that up high the 3c seemed to hold better. There is a chance its from my lips being tired from the night before, but regardless of that fact, im still loving a 3c!!

![]() | Re: Loving a 3C! The other thing that may be bothering you...going back and forth... is that the 7C has a much sharper rim edge (from rim into the cup...aka the alpha angle) than the smoother 3C. I know you say you got more tired...and that may be because you aren't as beat up from slamming that 3C into your chops (smoother)...ha. Next time.. see how your attacks are between the 3C and the 7C. I am not at all trying to talk you out of anything....again, it sounds like you are really have fun and doing well on the 3C. I still maintain that, if you are sounding and feeling good on the new one... just stay with it, don't look back.

![]() | Re: Loving a 3C! Yeah by all means if it is more comfortable to play already with more endurance and your tone is still as good or better...... Then what are you asking us for!!! Sounds like a perfect match. I found that same thing at one point back in HS (heck, I made it al the way to a 20D2d AKA the Bucket) and never looked back. I was immediately more comfortable and had better range and endurance. Find and read the Jens Lindemann (HE ROCKS) rant on mouthpieces and you will find most should play between a 7C and 3C size mouthpiece. Anything in there is cool!!! As for your GOLD PLATING it is an option. Down the road find another 3C or similar MP and try them back and forth and see if you prefer the feel. The silver plate versus gold plate will stick or slide around in different ways. Heck even when some pros get a GP horn they still play a silver mouthpiece due to feel. Do not view that option as Glitzy it is more functional than that and just might not be your cup of tea!

![]() | Re: Loving a 3C! I really did enjoy it, mine should be in to the school in about a week, so ill update when it comes in, but I never thought to try another mouthpiece cause I was doing so well on the 7c, but the 3c blew my mind away. I never fathomed that finding that old 3c in the band room would hook me.
