Are monette mouthpieces the best* mouthpieces

Are Monette the best*? *Most comfortable, No need to move your body for upper and lower register?

Their website and video convinces me that there mouthpieces are the best.

I live 6 hours from Portland. What do you guys think about these monettes? I was thinking maybe I should try them but they are expensive.

Re: Are monette mouthpieces the best* mouthpieces

I have 2 Monette MPs and like them quite a lot. However, I cannot see how that video would convince anyone that a Monette MP is any better then any other MP out there.

Six minutes to explain that it is shorter and plays better in tune then a "standard" MP? That, in my opinion, is neither good marketing nor intriguing pseudoscience....just a statement lacking any meaningful support.

If I were you, I would take a trip to the Monette shop and try out some mouthpieces and horns. I have been playing on Monettes for the past year and really like the tone I get out of them. Great mouthpieces.

In the video they say with a Monette you don't need any body motion or anything like that to play higher and lower. Is that true? What exactly do you like about them? What is so special about them?

"Best" is subjective. Some people like them, some people don't.

Re: Are monette mouthpieces the best* mouthpieces

I guess I will have to try them.

The mouthpieces I like so far

1) Louds 93 S
2) Schilke 14A4a
3) Olds 3

I have a feeling there is a better mouthpiece for me that is waiting somewhere out there.

Re: Are monette mouthpieces the best* mouthpieces

Welcome to the mouthpiece safari! I hate Monette mouthpieces(so far)! They all feel too big for me, and I sound flat! Still want to try a B7F though.
