Mouthpiece boosters

Has anyone used one of these? are they worth it for an intermediate-level player who would like a more 'professional' tone?

Re: Mouthpiece boosters

A more professional tone comes not from a booster, but from practice.

Re: Mouthpiece boosters

thanks for the reply, but then what do people use boosters for? what are the advantages/disadvantages? how do they affect the tone?

You can get a few ideas here:

But as Brekelefuw said: Practice helps a lot

Re: Mouthpiece boosters

I did use a booster for my trumpet for a few years, i found it helped strengthen my tone but i dont use it anymore as i get the same sound now without it. Its just personal preference really and if you can afford one or not. (once you put one on though it is really difficult to get it off again, just a word of caution)
