Re: Mouthpiece troubles

Give me one example where a band director was bashed in an extremely unfair manner and I'll read it. I've not seen one example of unjust slamming.
The pin head director with the mouthpiece idea got bashed just like anybody else who would have come up with such a stupid idea.
I still say:
Let the band director buy the mouthpieces.Chances are that'll put an end to this nonsense.

Re: Mouthpiece troubles

Having everybody play the same size mouthpiece to get to section blend ,makes as much sense as having everyone wear the same size shoe so you could all win cross country. The 3C IS brighter than the 5B. So if he wants a darker sounding section he should have everybody play a 5B!

Uhh, do you mean "teacher's decision?" Sorry to be so pedantic, but, uhh, stupid is stupid. No bashing meant. If we suppose High School teachers are immune from stupidity, then are we to suppose those posting on TM (including Moderators) aren't? Is stupid stupid, or not?

C'mon Miles71, either get some basic chops in logic or stay away from TM! Band directors do not get bashed because they are band directors--stupid band directors do get bashed for being stupid band directors, however!

Ian000450 will become famous soon enough
Re: Mouthpiece troubles

Sorry if i confused anybody. The only reason he told all of us to get a 3C is because they start kids here on 5C. When asking what we play my voice was drowned out with "5C!" so he assumed. I think he was just ignorant assuming everybody uses the same things.
