mouthpieces...try before you buy?

Ok...I'm a comeback trumpet player (after 20yrs off) and used a Schilke 14a4a in school. After reading about the millions of mouthpieces on here, does anyone know of a place you can go to try out different mouthpieces...before you buy? Thanks

if you ever feel like driving two days north to woodbridge, nj they'll let you try out a mpc. just don't go with a full wallet, that place will break you.

if you need it, they have it. they allow you to try mouthpieces and sample trumpets, of which there's probably about 400 hanging up on the walls.

they are about 45 minutes west of manhatten island in ny. what town is your friend from?

good luck!

Wow! I see what you mean on all their inventory! The VISA will definitely remain at home if I get a chance to go there. Friends are in Haddonfield and Bloomfield...I'll have to google Woodbridge and see how far away it is...road trip! Thanks for the info.

Re: mouthpieces...try before you buy?

if you come to bloomfield, you can take a train from montclair to woodbridge. Or you can take a train from South Orange. Its the same line running down to Woodbridge. Dillon's is a short walk from the train station. DOn't let the outside of the shop fool you...its built like a bunker.

Re: mouthpieces...try before you buy?

I agree, you should definitely try out a mouthpiece before you buy it... you should be deciding what you play.
