![]() | My schilke 14A4a came in! Well, as i was waiting for the mouthpiece to be shipped i had started a thread about if it was good to switch from a Blessing 3c mouthpiece to the 14A4a. And this was what happened. Now that it is here have tried it and it is amazing. It has a brighter sound than the Blessing 3c. Also the high notes that i was able to reach with the 3c now are easier to reach as i feel i dont have to work that hard. Now i see what people mean by a shallower mouthpiece wont add higher notes to your range but if you can already play them it makes it much easier. As for my lower registar it still sounds good and there is nothing wrong with it. I can still play the pedals quite well with this mouthpiece and it is just wonderful. I feel that this might replace the Blessing 3c mouthpiece for this marching band season as it also added more endurance for the long rehearsals that we have. Overall this is a great mouthpiece and i think i might have found the one mouthpiece that is just perfect for me on the second try. |

![]() | Re: My schilke 14A4a came in! Yes, i get a nice full volume but it is kind of hard to control the middle registar because i feel like it keeps on wanting to go higher. But i guess i need to practice with it more to get use to it. |

![]() | Re: My schilke 14A4a came in! That's great. Congratulations on finding a piece you like. I ordered 3 different mpc's recently trying to find a better alternative to my 3C. I ended up sending them all back. I'm about to try 4 more.

![]() | Re: My schilke 14A4a came in! The 14A4A will keep you from hurting your chops during marching band. It will give you waht I call a lazer beam sound. You wil need to get used to the air flow. It takes a lot less air to fill it up. When you fill a mpc up this is where the edge come from. Play it at home use scales. Back of the air and let the mpc do the work. Be sure you play your 3C some everyday to keep your chops healthy.

I also been using a Bach 1 1/4C, 1 1/2C, 8 1/2 C, all of which I like and a Blessing 3C. My friend has a Schilke 14B4 which I tried and really liked.
