| New mp for H.N. White flugel? Greetings O sages of high brass lore, I just got an H.N. White flugel from the 1920's that came with what looks like the original cookie cutter mp. The horn looks like it was played for five years and put in the closet for 75! I compared the original mp and my more modern flugel mp ( a Benge 5C FL) and got a better sound with the Benge but the Benge didn't fit nearly as well as the original mp. The original mp looks like a funnel. So here's the question: has anybody out there ever had a mp copy made using the dimensions of the original shank (so it will fit) combined with a modern rim/cup/backbore? If so, how did your experiment work? Regards, Dave Taylor Flip Oakes Celebration Olds Fullerton L-12 flugel H.N. White flugel |
