Question Pixie mute

Ok, so I bought this Pixie mute, (yes, my very first) for which I would like to have
some advice about how far in the bell it should be allowed to go.

I have already shaved off the corks appr. 2mm (0,08")

The pic shows the mute position after the shaving.

Re: Pixie mute

Nords is shaving his mutes... . I suggest that you start by getting a haircut for your trumpets....

Re: Pixie mute

You generally shave it enough that you can put the mute in and be able to close your plunger over the bell.

Re: Pixie mute

Thanks SB.

Seems that I need to shave a tiny bit more of the corks.

Then I have to call the hairdresser to order time for a trumpet hair cut..
