| pro tec I want to get this case, I don't have two trumpets but will probably have two soon.... Is this case overly bulky? I just hope it will fit in my band locker. Protec PB301D Pro Pac Double Trumpet Combo Case - Woodwind & Brasswind |

| Pianissimo User | Re: pro tec its a nice case. it is actually very light. I think the picture makes it look larger than it realy is. When you turn it on its side it would probly fit in your locker. I would probly measure the width of your locker before you buy just to make sure. fits all my music. When I dont have 2 trumpets in it, I use the other side for mutes, etc.. but I cant fit a harmon or my cup mute. |

| Re: pro tec I bought the EXACT same case, and I LOVE it! It has a nice pocket on top for folders, tuner, metronome, pencils, etc., and I like the way my trumpet fits inside (I don't have the 2nd trumpet that goes in the case at the moment). I do find it a bit difficult to get around with, as I have trouble getting through normal sized doors if I have it slung over my shoulder. They have a backpacking option I have yet to get that I think looks very appealing and would make it easier and less cumbersome to carry. It is, however, very light. I occasionally have to check if my horn is in the case! Bilboinsa already gave you the measurements, but I would bump the measurements up an inch or two in the height, because of the added bulk of your folders and such. You don't want it to get wedged into your locker too tightly! I love this case, and i would highly reccommend it to you. Since you don't have two trumpets, the second slot is a handy place to keep mutes, extra mouthpieces, books or homework, chapstick, and cards to play with your buddies over break (every one of those items is in my second slot right now). Depending upon whether you need a portable stand and how compact that stand is, you can even fit that into the second slot. Mine is about an inch too long. --Kat |

| Re: pro tec I have one of those and it works just fine and it protects the horns really well. When it snowed a couple weeks ago, I slipped and fell down the stairs into the New York subway and instead of hitting my back and head on the metal stairs, I landed squarely on that exact case (I had it over my shoulder, sort of across my back) and not only was I ok (I pretty much bounced right back up) both my horns were undamaged! A good case, I think. Jason. |
