![]() | "ProTec" quality? Does anyone have any experience with Pro Tec single trumpet cases such as: Buy Pro Tec Deluxe Trumpet Gig Bag online at Musician's Friend I'm looking for something simple and light, and wonder if there's any reason to step it up to more expensive custom cases. thanks |

![]() | Re: "ProTec" quality? That's not really a case, it's a gig bag. Cases provide protection, whereas gig bags are an easy way to carry a horn and accessories - light weight at the expense of protection. I have 3 ProTec cases (double, cornet, and single), and while they aren't the best around; for the price, they work well. I just bought a Torpedo - now that's a case that provides protection. |

![]() | Re: "ProTec" quality? LLD, I've used Pro Tec cases for about ten years now, and you get a pretty decent amount of protection for a very decent price. I've mainly used the Pro Tec contoured single trumpet case...and if you're looking for a case for one trumpet that gives the protection of a hard case and the flexibility/portability of a gig bag...this might be a good fit for you. Here's the link from the pro tec site, and you can probably find it cheaper on musician's friend. Also, here is the link to the rest of Pro Tec's products. I've used the standard double and the triple. Pretty good for the price you pay. Take a look, lots of options available! http://www.protecmusic.com/Products....nstrumentID=38 |

![]() | Re: "ProTec" quality? Oh man! If you are looking at a Protec Single gig bag, you HAVE to compare it to my new Torpedo Bag SINGLE OUTLAW. About the same weight, the same height, but the SO is wrapped in a one piece flexible plastic shell and has about 3X the foam contoured around your trumpet. You can beat on it pretty good--very unlike a gig bag, but you get all the lightweight advantage of a gig bag. Here: Torpedo Bags With an email, I can send about 12 detailed pix: gtp@bitstream.net |

![]() | Re: "ProTec" quality? Just for laughs......... I had a horn arrive at my doorstep from PUERTO RICO in this state. This is exactly how it arrived at my door, just the Protec case and the label. Horn was undamaged ![]()

![]() ![]() | Re: "ProTec" quality? My protec also fell apart after about a year. All the guts inside loosened up. I just bought a Gard leather gig bag and the leather is soft and thick. The padding is nice and thick as well and you get a safe bag with it. It cost me seveny bucks and it's actually for my flugelhorn.
