| Ridiculous idea: Bach MtVernon 3c with Reeves 692s backbore? Gents, Any suggestions, remarks and comments are greatly appreciated to this idea. I think of having constructed a custom mouthpiece with the combined characteristics of: - A Bach Mt Vernon 3c rim - A Bob Reeves 692 s backbore Any ideas about this piece? | It depends upon what kind of sound and response you want from your mouthpiece. It is something that you will have to try to know if it works for you personally. That combination sounds fine, but only you can tell if it is right for you. You might consider contacting Reeves and tell them what you are considering as they have dealt with many mouthpiece combinations for many years and can certainly help steer you in the right direction. Their 43C and 43.5 C cups are fairly close to the Mt. Vernon 3C. A cup that is relatively close to the Mt. Vernon 3C would certainly help produce a rich, round full sound. The 692s backbore is very efficient and is sometimes an excellent choice for all around playing because it gives plenty of focus, zing and zip to the sound. Most likely this combination would be very easy to play. Quote:
