| Rounded Tuning Slide on C I have seen many orchestral trumpet teachers including my previous teacher with these rounded tuning slides. I have heard taht they open up the horn with a free-er blow and allow unlock some stuffy high register on the C trumpet. I was wondering what other people's opinions on them were. I was thinking of about playing around with them to see if i liked them and i was wondering who makes good ones. Thanks. -Jacob |

![]() ![]() | I know what you are talking about but I am not sure you want one like a Bach rounded slide. These are VERY rounded and not many people have nice things to say about them. If you take a good look at many older Malone or newer Larson slides you will notice they are in between the Bach rounded and standard. The new Yamaha/Malones are not the same as some of his older ones. The new ones have harder turnes in the tubing. You should try some out before you buy them. |

| Pianissimo User | I second the blackburn slide - I have one and its great. What about cutting down a Bb slide? I have heard about people doing this - it seems like a simple thing to do. I have a rounded Bach slide - if you are interested, PM me. Its not that bad, but Blackburn just makes a better product. -Matt |

| Also, M/K drawing makes some very nice semi-round slides. He makes them for Melk. http://www.mkdrawing.com |

| I had one of David Miller's slides for my 229L/A C trumpet, it greatly improved the horn. I also had a rounded slide for the horn and hated it. http://www.electrotheremin.com/myslide.html |
