![]() | Re: Schilke 13c4 personal feedback has no relevance for different players... read specs for this mp and you'll have an idea about it... also try kanstul mp comparator ...

| Pianissimo User | Re: Schilke 13c4 Van, Schilke is a decent company in terms of reliability, consistency, and especially quality. You can trust their marketers much more than the other salesmen about mouthpiece comparisons. (Just say you already play a schilke)

![]() | Re: Schilke 13c4 Any mpc that Schilke makes is one of the best in the world. I know that an 11c4 is close to a Bach 7C. A 14 is close to a Bach 3C in rim size. A 13C4 is in the ballpark of a 5C or if Bach made one a 4C. I find that all mpc comparesion charts are fairly useless as each companies measure their mouthpieces from different points. I assesments are made by having played/field tested these mpcs.

Diameter size increases as the number increases. refers to “Cup Volume” A. Small – shallow B. Medium small C. Standard (medium size) D. Medium Large E. Large refers to “Rim Contour” 1. Roundest 2. Semi-Round 3. Standard 4. Semi-flat 5. Flattest refers to “Backbore” a. Tight b. Straight – slightly more open c. Standard d. Medium Large- slightly curved out e. Large This is all that you need to know technically. The rest is determined by your face.

![]() | Re: Schilke 13c4 VAN, I think Bob is right on the money with his assessment. Many of the comparison charts say a Schilke 15B is like a Bach 3C except with a rounder rim. But I tried a 15B and it feels and plays significantly bigger than a 3C. So a 14B is probably more like a 3C and a 13C4 is probably close to a Bach 5C and with a similar semi-flat rim. Seems like a good all-around mpc. If you try one, let us know what you think, especially compared to your current mpc.

![]() | Re: Schilke 13c4 After a Safari playing Schilke 12, 13, 13 heavy, I ended with 13C4. Has more edge and easier high register than the 13 and is not that small as the 12. Just fits my mouth and I feel comfortable. Regarding the Kanstul comparator it sems to be a copy of a Bach Mt. Vernon 7B. Quite comparable to a today´s Bach 5C. Herbert
