| New Friend | Soud differences between a Bach "C" cup and a &quo I've been looking into a few mouthpieces recenty to try out some different sounds and feels, but just different cup shapes, I normally play on a Bach 1 1/2 C, and was wondering about any typical tonal color changes between it and a Bach 1 1/2 B?

![]() | I prefer the B cup. However, you have to realize that the rim is different on a 1.5C and a 1.5B. I play on a 1C rim with a B underpart. The 1B rim is very different and I do not like it. |

| Mezzo Forte User | i just switched to a 1.5B recently I LOVE the sound. soft entrances are way easy, and its more fluid in slurred passages. Articulation is suffering a little though... not quite as pronounced or detailed as i had on my 1.25C.... I have a 1B also, might try that tomorow for shits and giggles.

![]() | Not only is the rim different (sharper) but I think the back bore is different as well. |
