![]() | Trumpet - Cornet Bag I am looking for a decent gig bag that can hold a trumpet and cornet and my accessories [mutes, oil, music glasses, ect.] I was using my bag that my Kanstul Chicago came in but the protection was terrible, the bells could hit the back bow of the other horn. I am getting a little tired of carrying two bags around. Dave

| Fortissimo User | Dave, if you've got a "regular" cornet then I'd think that the Protec 301 series should work for you. If you're like me and have that old, "tall valve" Getzen 800 then you'll need something special: I'm using the Protec VAX (designed for trumpet and flugel but works great for my combination). I also have a "spare" 301 triple kicking around that's "like new" but... it's a cumbersome son-of-a-gun and the shipping back to US would be more than the bag is worth! I used to use it for Bb and cornet and put the mutes in the 3rd "slot" until I changed the cornet from the Yamaha (it fit) to the Getzen (it didn't fit). Now the bag is collecting dust in the basement and waiting for the day when it'll be called upon to do horn storage duty. Last edited by Tootsall; 11-04-2006 at 02:18 PM. |

![]() | Thanks Tootsall - I'll check out the pro-tech, I have a pro-tech extreme to carry my trumpet when I ride my bike and it seems very protective. Dave
