Vincent Bach 1X

Hi trumpet masters,

My trumpet teacher let me borrow his Bach 1X. The name is in all caps. It's a great mouthpiece that I can play all day and night. But of course being a trumpet player means that I am not quite satisfied. The mouthpiece is very deep which makes me have a dark sound. I am a naturally dark sounding player so I would like a cup that can help me brighten up a bit. I can sound brighter on the 1X but it takes tons of air. I can't play D cups because of my thick lips.

Has anyone played a Curry BC cup? Would it be shallower than a 1X? Which Curry rim would match the Bach 1X? I think the 1.25.

Thanks for your commentsand suggestions.

Maybe a deep cup MP with an small diameter rim could work for you, just a thought!.

Re: Vincent Bach 1X

I now play on the equivalent of a Bach 1X made by Parke, It is a Merkelo rim. It might be worth your while to contact them and try the rim with different underparts. I am very happy with my results of such a quest.
